Especially since I no longer lived at home with my parents, I hopped from job to job, experienced many love breaks, moved around a lot and sometimes fell from one thing to another. I did feel that I was not quite the same as others.<\/p>\n<p>Constantly wanting to meet the expectations of others and mostly tiptoeing around me meant that after a number of years, I suffered a solid burnout.<\/p>\n<p>And the consequence of NOT being aware of the disorder ADD, the consequence of not knowing you have it, is that I had developed an anxiety disorder you could say hello to. Citalopram managed to reduce this for about 2 years.<\/p>\n<p>Since this also involves High Sensitivity, (note the <a title=\"Symptoms of ADD\" href=\"http:\/\/www.addkenmerken.net\/en\/add-symptoms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">symptoms of ADD<\/a> come here and there with the <a title=\"Characteristics of HSP\" href=\"https:\/\/www.addkenmerken.net\/en\/high-sensitive-person-hsp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">characteristics of HSP<\/a> agree), I am now mostly listening to my body.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>What helps me now in my life with ADD and HSP<\/h3>\n<p>Little things like drinking Rooibos tea, not too much coffee (!) and preferably not in the evening either and consuming a glass of wine in moderation as well...not too much sugar or too much salt and\/or ready-to-eat meals are tips that can already n help a little.<\/p>\n<p>What I also do now is reduce the overstimulation, which I often experience at the end of the day, by taking my RUST. For me, it piles up in my head by the day and at a good time, I'm fed up. And that's when I know the moment of pulling the brake and thinking: Ho, Stop...nothing more for a while.<\/p>\n<p>Recharge your energy battery if you have the opportunity to do so, do something for yourself, quiet your mind, turn off the TV a bit earlier, don't sit at your laptop for too long, try to be creative, listen to beautiful music you love, go dancing :-) .<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn't immediately say go read a book, because I personally struggle to get those out.
