It is mainly the psychological problems one has developed over the years that can make life so extra tough. If you forcefully adapt on a daily basis, you don't give yourself room to develop. This in itself is a factor that can severely affect our entire mental well-being. It even turns out that 70% of people diagnosed with ADD or ADHD later in life have developed a secondary disorder alongside it. This could include anxiety disorder, depression, burnout, personality disorder, OCD, etc.

Problems such as insecurity, low self-esteem, depression, fatigue, stress, anxiety often dominate much more than the ADHD or ADD in itself. In many cases, many people with AD(H)D therefore develop burnout or other mental disorders sooner or later. Fortunately, our brain is flexible until we die. This is also called 'Neuroplasticity'. This means that throughout our lives, we are able to largely recover from all our secondary concomitant symptoms that make our brain function unhelpfully. You can read more about this at the link below:

> Heal yourself of complaints with NLP

I myself have been suffering from CFS/ME for 2 years. (Chronic fatigue syndrome), which in my opinion is a misnomer as the fatigue is caused by a continuous stress response from the amygdala in the brain. This has gone into trauma mode. In other words, the fatigue is a secondary problem. It is an unconscious process that literally burns you up.

Fortunately, through all the knowledge I have gained and visiting the right therapists, I have found ways to recover from this. To this day, this is a tremendous struggle but I am fortunately improving by leaps and bounds. There was a time when I spent a week in bed after cycling for half an hour. Meanwhile, I am already doing a huge amount every day. I can say that I am cured before 75%.

The CFS/ME developed in me due to the above factors. Forced attempts to adapt which resulted in physical and mental imbalance, which in turn caused additional overstimulation and depression. When I subsequently got Pfeiffer and a few months later a severe food poisoning in Morocco, the CFS/ME had begun. I was 23 years old at the time. The amygdala had been triggered to get stuck in trauma mode. As if that wasn't enough, I then had to undergo 3 surgeries on my broken upper leg. These are all factors that can trigger CFS/ME (Surgery, viral infection, stress; so in my case a combination of everything) but the deep cause in all cases lies in the mental/physical imbalance between body and mind. Fortunately, we can achieve a huge amount with our own self-healing ability and don't need pills for everything. (Also more on this later)

Secondary mental disorders in ADHD and ADD

In 70% of cases, people with ADHD and ADD develop mental disorders that can also in turn be labelled such as personality disorder, anxiety disorder, addiction or obsessive-compulsive disorder or depression etc. These very concomitant problems in turn create a additional poor concentration and feeling absent or unclear. Low self-esteem, anxiety and stress also contribute enormously to this. This also causes additional overstimulation and restlessness.

These kinds of problems greatly amplify the symptoms of ADHD and ADD. In fact, all these symptoms are a manifestation of brain trauma. However, this is reversible due to our brain's flexibility and self-healing ability. Our brain and DNA is changeable until we die.
Read more about this under "Neuroplasticity”
.

ADD, ADHD and the risk of additional mental health problems In my opinion, most of the symptoms people have later in life are often not due to...

[1131,1506,1132
112,5,6,117,113,115,33,269,267,25,118,262,266,119,26,116,265,261,225
post-210","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-add","category-add-adhd","category-adhd-artikelen","tag-aandoeningen","tag-add","tag-adhd","tag-amygdala","tag-cvs","tag-cvsme","tag-depressie","tag-disbalans","tag-fietsen","tag-klachten","tag-onbehulpzaam","tag-onzekerheid","tag-operatie","tag-pillen","tag-psychische","tag-stressrespons","tag-triggeren","tag-vermoeidheid","tag-zelfbeeld
["GET
